LaSalle County Station Units 1 and 2 Supplemental Response to Inspection Report Nos. 50-373/85-016 and 50-374/85-016 NRC Docket Nos. 50-373 and 50-374 References (a):

L. A. Reyes letter to Cordell Reed dated June 6, 1985.

(b):

D. L. Farrar letter to J. G. Keppler dated July 2, 1985.

Dear Mr. Keppler:

This letter is to update the response given in reference (a) and keep you informed as to the current status of the LaSalle County Station ISI/IST program.

Commonwealth Edison's response to reference (a) specified the actions which had been and would be taken to correct the vibration monitoring program required by Section XI of the ASME code and as delineated in the LaSalle Inservice Testing Programs (IST). The implementation of the revised procedure for the new vibration trending program comitted to in reference (b) is complete.

To provide a more accurate description of LaSalle's IST vibration monitoring program, a revision to the relief request RP-04 was completed and On-Site reviewed. However, submittal of the Unit 1 and Unit 2 IST revisions by January 1, 1986 was not accomplished due to the expectation that the review of the previously submitted IST program is nearly completed at NRR.

Comonwealth Edison in conjuction with discussions with A. Bournia (NRR),

prefers to delay submittal of the revised program until this review is completed and an SER is issued. This is expected soon. The revised program will be' submitted by June 1, 1986.
