Dear Sir:
This letter transmits two copies of the scenario of the remedial 1997 Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Bienmal Emergency Exercise scheduled to be conducted on May 13, 1997. As presiously discussed with your staff, TM1 conducts player responsive drills to increase exercise realism. In this type of drill, the actions of the participants l durir.g the course of the drill have a direct effect on the operational and radiological drill conditions. Key drill parameters are controlled to ensure that the time line is followed and the objectives met. Based upon predeternuned assumptions, back up data will be provided should difficulties be experienced with the simulator or the electronic transfer of the real time data during the drill.
It is requested that the scenario not be placed in the Public Document Room and be kept confidential, until the completion of the exercise.
