SUBJECT:
GAO SURVEY OF BACKFITTING We have been advised by a member of GAO's Resources, Community and Economic Development Division that they are initiating the subject survey.
This survey is self-initiated by GAO.
The scope of GAO's survey is, at this time, very broad and will include backfitting at both operating plants and plants in the licensing process.
The EDO is arranging an entrance conference between GAO and appropriate NRC staff.
If you have any comments, we would be happy to pass them on to GAO.
