ATTACHMENT COMMONWEALTH EDISON COMriNY LASALLE COUNTY STATION UNIT 2 RESPONSE TO NOTICE OF VIOLATION ITEM OF NONCOMPLIANCE 10 CFR 50, Appendix B, Criterion XI, as implemented by Commonwealth Edison (CECO) Quality Assurance (QA) Manual, Quality Requirement QR No.

11.0, requires that appropriate testing be performed and documented to assure that safety related components perform satisfactorily in service.

Contrary to the above, two relays in the Safety Relief Valve (SRV)

-low-low setpoint relief subsystem logic were replaced with safety-related relays as required but subsequent testing to verify that they would perform satisfactorily was not performed.

CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN AND RESULTS ACHIEVED Special Test LST-84-108, " Low Low Setpoint Relay Test" was performed to verify the proper operation of relays K60 and K73.

Both of these relays functioned as designed.

CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN TO AVOID FURTHER NONCOMPLIANCE It is felt that this is an isolated incident and that no further action is required.

DATE OF FULL COMPLIANCE Full compliance has been achieved.
