NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 99901/8f/97-01
Dear Mr. Polizzi:
1 This letter refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. K. R. Naidu and Mr. V.
1 L. Beaston of this office on May 15, 1997.
The inspection included a review of activities conducted at your facility in Fenton, Missouri.
The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
The inspectors evaluated the program that ABB Service Inc. (ABB) established l
to implement the provisions of Part 21 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal l
Reaulations (10 CFR Part 21) for reporting defects and noncompliances, and Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50. The inspectors reviewed the documentation on J
selected metal-clad K-line circuit breakers th:t Illinois Power Company's i
Clinton Power Station sent to your Fenton shop for refurbishing. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of an examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspectors. The inspectors identified one unresolved item relative to the availability of breaker specific drawings to verify the correct contact configuration and propose to obtain additional information on this item during a future inspection at your Houston Service Center.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NPC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
