Dear Mr. Janecek:
We received your letter of December 13, 1985, requesting instructor certification examinations for twenty-one General Electric Company employees.
This is to inform you that Region III cannot support your request at this time.
It is our present policy that applicants for " Instructor Certifications" be allowed to instruct providing the following criteria are met:
1.
Satisfactory completion of similar training which is designed to prepare an individual to take the NRC SR0 license examinations.
2.
Certification by responsible facility management that the individuals have demonstrated senior reactor operator level abilities and are prepared to take a Nuclear Regulatory Commission senior operator level examination.
3.
The individuals are enrolled in a requalification program.
Contingent upon receiving confirmation that the persons listed on the attachment to your letter meet the above criteria, they may be used as instructors until an appropriate examination date can be scheduled.
You should also be aware that if these persons are instructors in another region, the Operator Licensing group in that region may have the resources to administer an examination.
