Dear Mr. Denton:
Unit 1 License Condition 2.C.
(30).g required the station to replace the existing SRV position indicator with a model that meets the requirements of IEEE 323-1974 and 344-1975 prior to startup after the first refueling outage.
The lift indicating switch assembly (LISA) on the SRV's has been successfully tested by Crosby per an approved test procedure. Based on the test results, Commonwealth Edison has concluded that the SRV LISA device satisfies the requirements of NUREG-0588, Category II.
The environmental qualification test report and review of this document are contained in reference 2.
Since the existing SRV position indicators have been qualified to the requirements of IEEE 344-1975 and the intent of IEEE 323-1974, we believe that this license condition has been saticfied and will continue operation with these indicators installed.
