CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER, MEMORANDUM DATED MAY 11, 2020 Attached is the Office of the Inspector Generals (OIG) analysis and status of recommendations as discussed in the agencys response dated May 11, 2020. Based on this response, recommendation 2 is closed. All recommendations related to this report are now closed.

Evaluation Report EVALUATION OF NRCS NETWORK STORAGE INTERRUPTION OIG-17-A-19 Status of Recommendations Recommendation 2: Develop and implement an internal Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) policy that requires NRC subject matter experts to re-evaluate the storage system architecture.
Agency Response Dated May 11, 2020: Under the GLINDA Systems, Network, and Related Cross-Cutting Services (SNCC) Blanket Purchase Agreement call, contract requirements and SLRs were included to ensure an initial evaluation and periodic re-evaluations of the storage system architecture. OCIO Procedure, OCIO-NISB-002, Monitoring Performance and Evaluating the Network Storage System Architecture, documents the internal procedure that requires evaluation of the storage system architecture. The NRC believes that the intent of this recommendation has been fulfilled.

Kenneth Dunbar, OCIO/SDOD/NISB OIG Analysis: OIG reviewed OCIO Procedure OCIO-NISB-002, Monitoring Performance and Evaluating the Network Storage System Architecture, and determined that it requires NRC subject matter experts to re-evaluate the storage system architecture. The procedure was approved by the Chief Information Officer and is effective May 11, 2020. It is available on the OCIO SharePoint site. This recommendation is therefore closed.
