Dear Sir:
We are writing in support of the petition you were sent on August 29, 1985, Fror Catherine Thiel Quigg, Research Director, Illinois Safe Energy Alliance, regarding the spent nuclear fuel storage facility operated by Cencral Electric in ;iorris, Illinois.
In that petition you were requested to correct an omission dating to May 4, 1982, when the GE facility was granted a new license to store spent nuclear fuel without fulfilling the usual requirement of filing an environmental impact statement.
Since this facility is situated between two 100-year flood plains, above fractured strata that overhang aquifers supplying millions of citizens their drinking water, it seems that an EIS is long overdue.
We look forward to learning what action you plan to take concerning this petition.
