F RESPONSE TO NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-341/85043 c
. Weakness'85043F Shift check sheet.needs to be revised to give acceptance values rather than a check off as " SAT".
-ResDonse The subject shift check sheet is the ESF Status Checklist (Attachment 7 of Procedure 21.000.01, " Shift Operations and Control Room").
This checklist has 19 cases where a-parameter is verified.
Fifteen of the cases are also required to be verified by Procedure 24.000.02, "Shiftly, Daily, Weekly, and Situation Required Surveillances".
This procedure provides acceptance values for parameters to be verified and requires recording of.the observed values when performing the surveillance.
In order to prevent the redundancy of the logging effort ~from reducing operator attentiveness, the ESF Status checklist.is being reviewed to determine if any of these 15' parameters should be deleted.
Of the 19 cases where a parameter is verified on the ESF Status Checklist, only three fail to provide an acceptance value.
An acceptance value will be provided for one of these when the procedure-is revised after the redundancy review.
The other two of these three are verified by Surveillance Procedure 24,n00.02 and will.be reviewed during the redundancy review.
The redundancy review will be complete and this checklist revised.by December 31, 1985 to provide acceptance values for all parameters.to be verified.
Additionally, although not specifically identified as a weak area, the operator round sheets are being reviewed for adequacy of information.
These sheets will be revised to include additional acceptance values as necessary.
Thir review and any necessary revisions to the-round sheets will Fe completed by May 15, 1986.
Operators completing the round cheets will also be required to record the observed values for parameters being verified.
This will provide an ongoing operating history and will provide additional feedback on plant operating conditions.
