Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 2 (THI-2)
Operating License No. OPR-73 Docket No. 50-320 Inspection Report 84-21 Inspection Report 84-21, dated December 13, 1984, concerned a routine announced safety inspection of the Radiological Controls (Rad Con)
Program at TMI-2. During this inspection, the Extremity Dose Assessment Program was reviewed. As stated in Section 7.0 of the report, the NRC determined that tne program for assessing extremity doses was acceptable by current industry standards. The inspector reported, however, that the methods used in assessing extremity doses were conservative and this resulted in extremity doses being over reported. To more accurately reflect the extremity doses, GPU Nuclear committed to two (2) action items. The first was to resolve adninistrative, logistic and computer software issues related to the implementation of a new method for assessing extremity doses by the end of the first quarter of 1985. Inis action was completed on March 21, 1985. The second was to implement the new method, including retroactive data modification to 1979, by November 1985. Due to the assignment of personnel to other priority work (e.g.,
