20555 Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant - Units 1 and 2 Response to NRC Generic Letter 85-09 Technical Specifications for Generic Letter 83-28, Item 4.3 (Reactor Trip Breakers)
Dear Mr. Thompson:
On May 23, 1985, Generic Letter 85-09, " Technical Specifications for Generic Letter 83-28, Item A.3," was issued requesting changes to tne Farley Nuclear Plant Technical Specifications. By letter dated 4
August 9,1985 Alabama Power Company stated that the NRC Staff would be updated on Alabama Power Company's efforts to address Generic Letter 85-09 following the September 1985 Westinghouse Owners Group (WOG) meet-ing. Alabama Power Company will submit a Technical Specification change 3"
request, as required in Generic Letter 85-09, by December 16, 1985.
Alabama Power Company has previously implemented testing of the modified reactor trip breakers, the bypass breakers and the main control board switches at the Farley Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2.
A description of the testing performed at the Farley Nuclear Plant is provided in Alabama Power Company letters dated October 20 and November 7,1983 and NRC Safety Evaluation Report dated September 20, 1983.
