STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIEFING BY MAINE YANKEE, NRR, AND REGION I, 9:30 A.M.,
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 1997, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)
The Commission was briefed by representatives from Maine Yankee and the NRC staff on the status of corrective actions at the Maine Yankee facility.
The Commission also heard brief presentations from the following individuals:
1.
David Lochbaum, Engineer, Union of Concerned Scientist 2.
William S. Linnell II, Town Councilman, Cape Elizabeth, Maine Committee for a Safe Energy Future 3.
Raymond Shadis, Information Coordinator, Friends of the Coast Opposing Nuclear Pollution (FOC) 4.
Dana Connors, President, Maine Chamber and Business Alliance The Commission requested the staff to respond to any particular j
safety issues raised in the meeting by these individuals.
. Additionally, the Commission requested further information from the staff regarding the arrangement between Maine Yankee and Entergy, and whether any licensing action io necessary.
