THURSDAY, JANUARY 30, 1997, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)

The Commission was briefed by Northeast Utilities and the NRC staff on the status at Millstone.

The Commission requested

quarterly briefings on the progress and readiness to restart of the Millstone units.

The subsequent briefings should contain more detail and a finalized list of restart issues.

In a future l

briefing, the Commission requested additional details on the Quality Assurance organization and role at the site.

The i

Commission encouraged the staff to work closely with the licensee to finalize a list of restart issues and develop a preliminary timeline with significant milestones annotated for each of the units.
