To discuss GNSI progress regarding investigation of the.
implications of the non-structural weld cracks found in i
October 1985 in the basket of the CASTOR V/21 cask during the unlicensed Department of Energy demonstration at the Ioaho j
National Engineering Laboratory (INEL).
DISCUSSION:
GNSI has submitted a preliminary report on the INEL incident (docketed December 4,1985 under Project M-31). NRC staff have begun reviewing it. A meeting is scheduled for December 13, 1985 to discuss the report in detail.
i If issues pertaining to it are adequately addressed, GNSI will prepare a second report probably as an inclusion or addandum to the CASTOR V/21 Topical Report.
