EXXON NUCLEAR CORPORATION (ENC), DEC0f'J1ISSIONING OF ROOM 173,SPECIALTYFUELSBUILDING(SFB)
On November 25, 1985, ENC submitted a survey report for the plutonium decontamination effort for Room 173 and related support facilities in and about the SF Building. We request that Region V conduct a confir-matory survey and provide us with a recommendation for conversion of the room and support facilities from an authorized place of use for mixed oxides to a place of use for uranium only.
ENC plans to install an incinerator in Room 173 to permit processing of the large inventory of combustible material. Prompt release of this room as a place of use for plutonium will permit ENC to install the incinerator in the next several months. Your prompt response to our request is appreciated.
