NRC STAFF RESPONSE TO PRESIDING OFFICER'S ORDER DATED APRIL 8.1997 T1 issues On April 8,1997, the Presiding Officer issued an Order directing the Staff to provide the Hearing File required in this proceeding, by May 8,1997. That Order also required the Staff to provide by April 18,1997, an estimate of the number of pages that the Hearing File would contain. The Staff's best estimate, based upon papers currently available to it, is that the prospective Hearing File will number more than 180 pages.
The issues before the Presiding Officer concern the simulator portion of the Senior Reactor Operator examination administered to Mr. Calabrese. The examination was prepared by the utility. Upon receiving the April 8,1997 Order, the Staff res,ucsted that
