This refers to the performance. appraisal conducted by J. Blair Nicholas of this office during October 15-16, 1985, for the NRC/ State of Kansas Environmental Monitoring Cooperative Agreement around the Wolf Creek reactor site and to the discussion of the appraisal results with you and other members of the Kansas Department of Haalth and Environment staff at the conclusion of the appraisal ~
on October 16, 1985.
Based 'on the appraisal results, we believe the State of Kansas has the necessary personnel, equipment, and facilities to continue to satisfy the conditions of the cooperative agreement. However, as discussed in the appraisal report, we have several concerns regarding items which did not meet all the conditions of the cooperative agreement and require your attention.
Based on a telephone conversation between J. Blair Nicholas of my staff and Harold Spiker of your' organization, it is my understandin'g that the identified concerns either have been or will be addressed in order that the conditions of the cooperative agreement are met. We request that you respond to these concerns in writing indicating. actions taken to meet the conditions of the cooperative agreement.
Should you have any questions concerning this appraisal, we will be pleased to discuss them with you.
