A etchanic, doing routine preventative ma'intenance on the east' diesel generator discovered

~(ct approximately 3:00 p.m..-PST, December 9,,1985)-within a valve cover, a brand new 16 oz.
- bsll-peen hammer at.a. location where it could vibrate into moving machinery. He reported

J fit to his' supervisor at the end of the work shif t at approximately 4:00 p.m.,
- PST, D:cember 9, 1985.
i" Tht hammer which bears a. serial number is.normally stored and checked out of " tool storage".
Tool check out records do not_ reflect the hammer being checked out.
The licensee is Edstzrmining how long the hammer may have been missing.
'Ths FBI has been notified by the licensee.
