NRC Docket Nos. 50-254 and 50-265 N_RC Docket Nos. 50-295 and 50-304 Pursuant 10 CFR 50.54(w)(3), Commonwealth Edison Company (Comed) is required to report to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff the current levels ofinsurance or financial security and the sources of this insurance or financial security that demonstrate Comed possesses sufficient economic resources, in the event of an accident at Comed's reactors, to stabilize and decontaminate the affected reactor and the reactor site.
To satisfy the reporting requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(w)(3), Comed is submitting the following status of property damage insurance maintained by Comed:
Insurer Coversee Nuclear Mutual Limited
$500 Million Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited
$1,600 Million excess of l
$500 Million l
The total onsite property damage insurance applicable to each nuclear facility is $2,100 million which applies above a deductible of $2.5 million per occurrence.
The above insurance policies provide adequate coverage to satisfy Comed's financial obligations in the event of an accident at one of our reactors. As such, Comed has concluded that our financial resources satisfy the criteria specified in 10 CFR 50.54(w).

1 The above insurance policies have been in affect since prior to December 31,1996, and presently remain in effect. Per 10 CFR 50.54(w)(3), this report is required to be submitted on April 1 of each year. The delay in meeting Comed's reporting obligations was an administrative oversight and did not affect our ability to j
satisfy the requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(w) at any time. Comed apologizes for our administrative oversight and for any inconvenience this issue may have caused the NRC staff.
