(CNSI) respectfully submits our application for revision of Certificate of,Complianc.e_No.L9176.to include an optional, close-fitting steel insert that may be used.in the cask cavity to. provide additional shoring and shielding of.the.
cask contents.
The optional insert.to be used--is depicted.on,CNSI Drawing No. C-119-B-0017, Rev. 2 which is the same insert currently.'.
. approved for use in cask model CNSI.14-195H-(Ref. 2).
With respect' to this insert, the following should be noted:
O Its use - does not affect the maximum quantities of. ' waste material approved for use in'the cask.
O The use of an optional ' insert in'the' cask'will reduce the maximum permissible weight of the contents by an. amount 1 equal to the weight of the ~ insert;.thus, the. maximum permissible' weight of the payload remains 20,000 - pounds and will--include i'
the waste material, _ shoring, secondary containers, as;well as -
the insert.-
