Dear Mr. Denton:
This letter supplements our response (Reference (0)) to Generic Letter 84-11 (Reference (a)).
LaSalle Unit 1 is scheduled for a Fall 1985 outage. Unit I has a total of 180 Class 1 stainless steel welds (Attachment), 43 of which were solution annealed. Using guidance from NUREG-1061 these 43 welds are classified as resistant to IGSCC, therefore the remaining 137 welds will fall uncjer the 84-11 criteria. The minimum sample for Generic Letter 84-11 is 33 welds and these welds will be required to be inspected this outage. The
" projected sample" are welds that are scheduled to be inspected during this outage.
