Thank you for your letter of February 19, 1997, indicating your interest in the International Nuclear Regulators Association (INRA).
I appreciate your support for this initiative, and I agree that regular contact and cooperation among nuclear regulators significantly enhances nuclear safety worldwide.
The members of the working group have agreed to convene a meeting in Paris at the end of May to create this organization formally. At this time the organization will be composed of the members of the working group; however, it is likely that expansion of the organization will be considered at an early date.
I will circulate your letter to the working group at the May meeting, and will keep you apprised of any developments in this area. A key objective of the May meeting will be the negotiation of a formal terms of reference document for the INRA. Once this document has been finalized I will be 1
