The purpose of this rodification is to issue fully definitized Tast Order No. 016 and to increar,e the arount obligated under the contract by $15,000.00.

It is estimated that the total cost to the Government for full performance of this Task Order No. 016, will be $16,142.00, of which the sum of $14,809.00 represents the estimated reimbursable costs, and of which $1,333.00 represents the fixed fee.
The amount presently obligated by the Government with respect to this Task Order No. 016 is $15,000.00. Upon the availability of FY 86 funds, this task order will be fully funded by a modification to this contract.
C.
In accordance with Article II entitled " Task Order," authority is hereby provided for the contractor to perform Task Order 016, entitled "" Environmental Assessment of Babcock and Wilcox Volume Reduction Services Facilities - Phase II."
The effort required shall be performed in accordance with the contractor's proposal dated September 12, 1985 as revised by letter dated September 25, 1985, which are hereby incorporated by reference.

Under FIN 01024-5, Science Applications International, Inc. (SAIC) ccnducted an Envireneental Assessment (EA) of Babcock & Wilcox's (B&W) i Volume Recuction Services facility (VRSF) prepcsed to be constructed and operated at B&W's plant in Parks Township, Pennsylvania.
The VRSF would cor? rise a high-force compactor and an incinerator to reduce the volume of low-level radioactive waste from utility, industrial and institutional I
generators.,The EA was completed on July 29, 1985.
B&W recognized a need to modify their radiation dose assessment and revise their application for license amence.ent, and the Commission ordered that a hearing be instituted 2
on the. application.
The statement of work for Task 013 under FIN 01024-5 i
specifically excluded technical assistance in support of a hearing, since it was not known whether one would be instituted from the time the

i 4.0 Reports The contractor shall provide written and worc processor disk revisions, suitable for incorporation in the July 1985 EA.
The centractor shall also provice written testimeny in letter report form.

2 5.0 Level of Effort The estimated level of effort required to accomplish this task is six person-weeks.
6.0 Period of Perforr.ance The period of performance for work described in this task order shall be from October 1, 1985 through December 31, 1985.
7.0 NRC-Supplied Information The NMSS PM shall provide the contractor with copies of B&W's revised application for license amendment when received by NRC.
