Braidwood Station Units 1 and 2 Annual Radiological Effluent Report NRC Docket numbers STN 50-456 and STN 50-457 Enclosed is the Annual Radiological Effluent Release Report for January through December,1996, for Braidwood Nuclear Power Station. As part of an Updated Final l
Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) self-assessment, several deviations were identified in the report submittal from the requirements of Regulatory Guide 1.21, Revision 1, dated June 1974. The report was prepared in accordance with Regulatory Guide 1.21 with the following exceptions:
Meteorological data are provided in quarterly summaries for the year. No

hourly data for batch releases are provided.
Average stream flow is calculated for the entire quarter rather than the periods of actual effluent release.
Total body doses to the population and average doses to individuals in the population from all receiving-water-related pathways are not included.
Total body doses to the population and average doses to individuals in the population from gaseous effluents to a distance of 50 miles from the site are not included.
We are revising our UFSAR to identify the specific guidelines from Regulatory Guide 1.21 with which we will comply for this and future Annual Effluent Report submittals.
The on-site review for the revision to the UFSAR will be completed by October 31, l

A summary of changes made to the Commonwealth Edison Offsite Dose Calculation Manual (ODCM) during the period of January through December 1996 and an entire copy of the ODCM, current as of December 31,1996, was submitted under separate cover letter dated February 27,1997.
