E' 328 SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT (SON)- DEPARTURE FROM NUCLEATE BOILING RATIO (DNBR) TRANSITION CORE PENALTY COMMITMENT FOR TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION (TS) CHANGE 96-01 This letter documents a commitment to obtain NRC review and approval for reductions in the DNBR initial transition core penalty below the proprietary value for mixed Mark-BW cores er docketed in our response to NRC's Question 28 da:ed April 6,1997. This commitment will remain in effect until a homogen. ous core of Mark-BW fuelis achieved. This commitment was required by NRC to support approval of TS Change 96-01 as discussed in a telephone call with NRC on April 10,1997.
The enclosure provides the commitment made in this letter.
