Dear Dr. Grace:
'SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLAhl' UNITS 1 AND 2 - NRC-0IE REGION II INSPECTION REPORT 50-327/84-31 AND 50-328/84 SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSE TO VIOLATION This is a supplemental response to J. A. 01shinski's November 14, 1984, letter to H. G. Parris transmitting IE Inspection Report Nos. 50-327/84-31 and 50-328/84-31 for our Sequoyah Nuclear Plant which cited TVA with two Severity Level IV Violations.
In our initial response, which was submitted to you by J. A. Domer's letter dated December 18, 1984, we stated that an inspection program for the high pressure fire protection system strainers would be implemented by April 1, 1985. Originally, this was to be performed under the plant surveillance Instruction program. The inspection of the strainers will instead be conducted using a Maintenance Instruction. The instruction will be in place.and the strainers will be inspected by startup of unit 1 from the cycle 3 refueling outage.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with R. E. Alsup at FTS 858-2725.
To the best of my knowledge, I declare the statements contained herein are complete and true.
Very truly yours, TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY U.214 R. H. Shell Nuclear Engineer cc:
