INTEGRATED MATFRIALS PERFORMANCE EVALUATION 1 PROGRAM (IMPEP) REVIEW OF LOUISlANA RADIATION l CONTROL PROGRAM i l
l' This memorandum transmits to the Management Review Board (MRB) a proposed final l report (Attachment 1) documenting the IMPEP review of the Louisiana Radiation Control ,
- Program. The review of the Louisiana program was conducted by an interoffice team l during the period October 7-11, 1996. The team issued a draft report to Louisiana on
! February 14,1997, for factual comment. Louisiana's factual comments, received by letters dated February 28,1997, from Mr. J. Dale Givens, Secretary, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality and March 4,1997, from Mr. William Spell, Administrator, l Radiation Protection Division (Attachment 2) have been in::orporated into the proposed ,
final report. Minor editorial corrections sent by Mr. Spell have also been incorporated into the proposed final report.
l The review team found the State's performance, with respect to the common indicators to f' I be satisfactory and the non-common indicator Sealed Source and Device Evaluation Program, to be satisfactory with recommendations for improvement. Based on the existing
- NRC compatibility policy and the IMPEP evaluation criteria, the review team found the /f ,
