UNC requests that the subject license be amended to authorize activities described in the enclosed license pages. This submittal:

(1) Incorporates the design changes cited in Ref. 3.

(2) Requests additional storage authorizations for fuel components and cores.

Component slab storage was initially described in Ref. 5 and 6.

This submittal incorporates information requested in Ref. 7 and 8.

Core storage and rodded cluster storage is included in this submittal to provide additional processing flexibility.

The enclosed index lists all pages in this submittal.

Please note th'at the enclosed submittal replaces pages 3.9-27 through 3.9.45A in the current license with Pages 3.32-1 through 3.38-1.

Attachment (1) addresses comments developed during an informal review (Ref.1).

Enclosed is a check for $150 for the application fee. We request that approval of this amendment be issued by Feb. 1, 1986.
