SUBJECT:
REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE - THE ACCEPTABILITY OF SWITCHBOARD WIRE NOT QUALIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH IEEE 383-1974, IN CLASS IE AND OTHER EQUIPMENT IMPORTANT TO SAFETY AT BRAIDWOOD STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 NRR received a' TIA request from Region III (Enclosure 1) on January 30, 1986, requesting NRR to provide an evaluation of their concerns regarding the acceptability of switchboard wire used at Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2.
This TIA request was sent to you and your assistance was requested-(Enclosure 1) by the Deputy Director for the Division of PWR Licensing-A on February 3, 1986. Based on new information pertaining to the Braidwood hearing schedule, your submittal is needed no later than February 28, 1986, rather than the March 7, 1986, date originally requested. At your convenience, a meeting will be set up with Region III in order to discuss additional background information. For further information or clarification, please contact the Braidwood Project Manager, Janice A. Stevens at Ext. 27702.
