aggressively. The NRC should work to expedite the current decommissioning i
effort and to clarify the decommissioning process. This effort should result in a clear set of technical requirements (e.g., site release criteria) and financial requirements for decommissioning. This should be done with careful consideration of the impact on the safety and reliability of the operating plants during their last year.s of operation and on the decommissioning facilities so as to provide regulation ensuring safe and efficient decommissioning.
