ITEMS OF INTEREST Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. (NFS)
On November 19, 1985, members of the ELD, SP,and HMSS staff met with representativesof DOE to discuss Nuclear Assurance Corporations (NAC) request for NRC's approval of the purchase of NFS, Erwin, Tennessee. _
It was detemined that additional infomation related to NAC's financial condition is needed to complete NRC's review. The NRC will request this information from the NAC.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
On November 13, 1985, Materials License No. SNM-986, issued to MIT, was renewed for a full 5-year term. This renewal also incorporates two other MIT Meterials licenses into SNM-986. These licenses were subsequently teminated. The SNM-986 license authorizes MIT to use the licensed material for research and teaching purposes.
