. transmitted the results of its corrective action review as required by Condition 35 of its Source Material License SUA-648. for the Gas Hills.

Wyoming uranium mill site. It has reguested that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission modify License Condition 35 to rcflect the proposed additions, deletions and redesignations of groundwater wells and treatment systems for >

its Groundwater Monitoring and Corrective Action Plan.

2.0 Obiective The objective is to determine if Umetco's proposed modification to the groundwater compliance program is protective of human health and the environment and complies with applicable groundwater regulations. CNWRA must first determine if enough information has been provided by the licensee and if not, request what is needed. With adequate information. CNWRA will do a detailed evaluation o' the program. If it is considered inadequate, the licensee will be requested to provide additional information justifying its model or data, or else revise the program to meet the requirements of Part 40 Appendix A. Once a program is acceptable. CNWRA will provide a written evaluation.

3.0 Technical Qualifications Reauired i The CNWRA shall provide the services of geohydrologists and geochemists who have an understanding of ground-water movement, and well drilling and operation associated with monitoring and cleanup at a uranium recovery ,

1. .The NRC project manager will provide an orientation to relevant CNWRA' staff on the proposed groundwater corrective action plan revisions, either by phone or meeting.  ;
2. The CNWRA staff shall review the submittal using any applicable completed portions of the Title 11 standard review plan being prepared.

If standard review plan sections are not'available, the CNWRA shall use previous NRC reviews as a precedent and bases for conducting the review.

If needed, comments shall be prepared that can be sent to the licensee as requests for additional information (RAI). Requests for additional informatico shall only be in areas where the licensee has not proposed '

sufficient information to justify it's technical position. Requests for
