This is to confirm the telephone conversation on January 30, 1986, by Mr. James T. Conway of this office with you concerning the inspection at the Long Beach, California plant on February 10-14, 1986.
i The inspection will relate to a review of QA records pertaining to the five check valves involved in the SONGS-1 event in November 1985, and pertinent items (e.g., design changes, failure data, recommended maintenance programs) related to nuclear check valves manufactured by MCC-Pacific Valves.
The inspection team will consist of two individuals. Your cooperation concerning this matter will be appreciated.
