-Deviations regarding Sequoyah's 10 CFR 50 Appendix R evaluation were submitted to NRC by references,1, 2, and 3..These deviations affect important positions taken in our Appendix R reevaluation.
Several deviations propose corrective actions which require modifications to be made to bring Sequoyah into strict compliance with Appendix R' requirements.
The design process is complete on these modifications.
However,.until NRC provides a formal response on the acceptability of these deviations, we do not plan to issue any of the drawings or perform any of the work' associated with t.he modifications.
Therefore, a schedule for completion of these modifications and for compliance with Appendix R'can not be finalized until the formal NRC response is received.
He are striving for " full and complete"-compliance with 10 CFR 50, Appendix R
~as soon as possible.
NRC's response would enable us to continue'this effort in a timely manner and would b.e greatly appreciated. As previously stated, the Appendix R modifications, except for any modifications associated with the Appendix R deviation requests,'will be complete by June 30, 1986.
