50-424/85-16, 50-425/85-16 Attention: Roger D. Walker The Georgia Power Company wishes to submit the following supplemental information to our response GN-648, dated June 27, 1985, to your inspection report 50-424/85-16 and 50-425/85-16:

In our response to Violation 50-424, 425/85-16-01, " Inadequate Procedure for the Installation and Inspection of Cable Supports in Electrical Penetrations", Georgia Power Company committed to develop an area turnover procedure which would include provisions for verification of cable support moment loading limitations by engineering for each electrical penetration prior to area turnover. The response indicated that these actions were expected to be completed by August 20, 1985.

The procedure was developed but, due to communications errors, specific provisions for the engineering verification were omitted. The error was not detected until late December 1985, at which time immediate action was initiated to add the omitted provisions to the area turnover procedure. These corrective actions were completed on January 8, 1986.

The error has no impact on plant hardware as no area turnovers involving electrical penetrations have yet been completed.

This response contains no proprietary information and may be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.

Your truly, f _
