In accordance with the requirements of-10 CFR 50.61, Fracture Toughness Requirements for Protection Against Pressurized Thermal Shock Events, Toledo Edison's assessment of the Davis-Besse Unit No. 1 (DB-1) reactor vessel has been submitted in the Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) report, BAW-1895, l
" Pressurized Thermal Shock Evaluations in Accordance with 10 CFR 50.61 for Babcock & Wilcox Owners Group Reactor Pressure Vessels". This report was transmitted to the NRC (Mr. H. N. Berkow) from the B&W Owners Group by letter dated January 20, 1986.
Toledo Edison has determined, through the prescribed methods of 10 CFR 50.61, that the DB-1 reactor vessel will not exceed the established RTPTS screening criteria prior to the expiration date of the DB-1 Operating License. Additionally, the RT values calculated for DB-1 as of January 23, 1986 areasprovidedonAt$I!hment I to this letter. The values listed on Attachment I are supplemental information to Table 4-8 of the B&W Owners Group report, BAW-1895.
Toledo Edison considers the immediate. action required by 10 CFR 50.61 to be complete. The NRC will-be notified whenever changes in core loadings, surveillance measures or other information indicate a significant change in the projected RTPTS ""
