Dear Mr. Denton:
The purpose of this letter is to transmit Kansas Gas and Electric Company's (KG&E) projected values of the Reference Temperature for Pressurized Thermal Shock (RT fr ree enera ng Station, M t No. 1.
PTS On July 23, 1985 the Nuclear Regulatory Commission amended 10 CFR 50.61 which describes f racture toughness requirements for protection against a pressurized thermal shock event.
In accordance with 10 CFR 50.61, the attachment tothisletterprovidesKG6E'sprojectedvaluesofRT[l!e(at the inner vessel surface) of reactor vessel beltline material from present time through the expiration of the Operating License for Wolf Creek Generating Station, Unit No. 1.
Based on the information in the attachment no further submittals concerning Pressurized Thermal Shock are required unless an update to the attachment is required.
