SUMMARY

OF UNIT 1 OPERATING EXPERIENCE DECEMBER 1985 12/1 At the beginning of this reporting period, the Unit was at 874 MWe with the reactor at 100% power.

1 12/3 Load was reduced to 850 MWe at 0100 when 12 IIeater Drain Tank level control valve failed. Resumed full load operation (876 MWe) at 0700. Load was reduced to 856 MWe at 2007 while repairs were made to 12 heater drain tank level control valve.

12/4 Resumed fullload operation (875 MWe) at 0600.

12/31 At the end of this reporting period, the Unit was operating at 878 MWe with the reactor at 100% power.

SUMMARY

OF UNIT 2 OPERATING EXPERIENCE DECEMBER 1985 12/1 At the beginning of this reporting period, the Unit was shutdown for its sixth scheduled refueling outage. Commenced heatup at 0052.

12/2 IIcatup was completed at 0300. 21A Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) seals failed at 0951. At 1155 cooldown was commenced to facilitate replacement of 21A RCP seals.

12/6 Commenced heatup at 1915.

12/8 Reactor startup was commenced at 0345 and the reactor was brought critical at 1445.

12/9 Commenced low power physics testing at 0225.

12/10 The Unit was paralleled at 1858 and commenced power escalation to 50% for core physics testing.

12/12 The reactor tripped on low steam generator water level at 0040 when 21 Steam Generator Feed Pump tripped on a faulty control signal. Reactor startup was commenced at 0600, the reactor was brought critical at 1035, paralle!ed at 2115. Power was escalated to 50% and core physics testing was recommenced.

12/14 At 1200 commenced power escalation to 97% for core physics testing.

12/16 Power was reduced to 60% at 0930 to facilitate repairs to 21 Steam Generator Feed Pump controls. Commenced power escalationto 97% at 2115.

January 10, 1986

SUMMARY

OF UNIT 2 OPERATING EXPERIENCE (Cont'd) 12/17 Power was reduced to 60% to facilitate repairs to 22 Steam Generator Feed pump coupling at 2210.

12/20 At 1750 commenced power escalation to 97% for core physics testing.

12/22 At 2350 reduced load to 87% when main turbine vibration readings increased slightly.

12/23 Power was returned to 97% at 1720 after main turbine vibration was determined to be acceptable.

12/26 Load was increased to capacity (875 MWe) at 1930.

12/31 At the end of this reporting period, Unit 2 was operating at 884 MWe with the reactor at 100% power.
