Office of International Programs Washington D.C. 20555 Re Application for License to Export Enriched UF6 for the Sendai Nuclear Power Plant No.2 Region 5

Dear Sir or Madam,

Please find enclosed our application in triplicate for license to export slightly enriched UF6.

This material will be used for the fabrication of fuel assemblies and ultimately loaded into the Sendai Nuclear Power Plant Number 2 owned by the Kyushu Electric Power Co.,

Inc.

The contract numbers for the uranium enriching services with the U.S. Department of Energy are DE-SC05-84UE/JA206 and DE-SC05-84UE07539.

The feed material is supplied by the United Kingdom.

The relevant enriched UF6 will be delivered at the U.S. D.O.E. Oak Ridge Enrichment Plant in Oak Ridge, TN.

After being exported to Japan, it will be converted to UO2 powder, pelletized and fabricated into fuel assemblies by Mitsubishi Nuclear Fuel Ltd.

As the validity of the export license, we wish to have a two year period from the date of issuance.

With regard to sampling, we request that one (1) pinch tube sample be taken from each parent cylinder. This sample should be delivered to us c/o Teledyne Isotopes for independent analysis. We also request that the Nuclear Audit and Testing Company witness the weighing and sampling.

Thank you for your attention to the above and should you have any questions, please call us at (212) 605-2150.

l.Y h truly yours, d
