MOTION FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A SCHEDULE The Applicants, having been informed that the New Hampshire state and local off-site emergency plans have been transmitted to FEMA and the NRC Staff, and that the Staff has served copies of these plans upon the parties, move that the Board establish a schedule for the submission of, response to and ruling upon contentions related to such plans, as follows:
i 8601220303 860114 PDR ADOCK 05000443 G
PDR I
oDso)
Date Item Feb. 24, 1986 Conte ntions on State and Local Plans received.*
Mar. 14, 1986 Responses of any party other than Staff received.*
Mar. 21, 1986 Responses of Staff received.*
Apr. 1 & 2, 1986 Pre-hearing Conference to consider:
ruling on proposed contentions, consolidation of parties and issues, any other item set forth in 10 C.F.R. 5 2.752 and the Commission's Policy Statement (13 NRC 451).
- Means received by the-Board and the other parties in hand on the indicated date.
In support of this motion, the Applicants say as follows:
1.
The proposed schedule is reasonably consistent with the " relative deadlines" contained in the Board's Order of May 23, 1983.
2.
While the Applicants realize that certain contentions have been previously submitted, responded to and, in some cases, ruled upon in connection with prior drafts of some of these plans, the Applicants believe that the orderly admininistration of these proceedings would be advanced by permitting and requiring new contentions with respect to these plans - - -
and by dismissing as moot all prior contentions offered in respect of superceded plans.
(This procedure eliminates any need to compare old plans to new plans, or to interpret the extent to which any previously offered contentions might or might not have become moot 4
by intervening revisions to plans, and it will, we respectfully submit, eliminate any potential for misundertanding or confusion in the future.)
Respectfully submitted,
'?
