Dear Mr. Keppler:
In accordance with Technical Specification 3.7.9.1 Action 6.2.(c) and as stated in my letter dated 12-27-85, this follow-up report is being submitted. On December 27, 1985, the Fire Suppression Water System was not operabic as required by Technical Specification 3.7.9.1.b,due to a leak in the system which resulted in sectionalizing the outside ring header. Backup fire suppression was avail-abic from nearby hose stations and the plant fire truck. No safety related areas were isolated as a result of the sectionalizing.
Upon excavation of the area in question, it was discovered that the fire header was not damaged. A section of an unrelated, adjacent piping system was found to be leaking. The Fire Suppression Water System was returned to operability at 1125 hours0.013 days <br />0.313 hours <br />0.00186 weeks <br />4.280625e-4 months <br /> on January 6, 1986 following this discovery.
