EDWIN I. HATCH NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1, 2 NRC REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -
INSERVICE INSPECTION PROGRAM Gentlemen:
By letter dated December 23,
- 1985, the NRC requested additional information concerning the Inservice Inspection (ISI) Program for the second ten-year interval of operation of Hatch Units 1 and 2.
As a matter of clarification, the ISI program update was submitted by Georgia Power Company (GPC) letter NED-85-483 dated June 25, 1985 instead of July 25, 1985 as was indicated in the NRC letter.
The NRC letter was received by GPC via telecopy on December 24, 1985 and required a written response within thirty l
(30) days of the receipt of said letter.
The additional information was l
requested in order to complete the NRC review of the aforementioned program.
GPC staff personnel contacted the NRC Hatch Licensing Project Manager, Mr.
G. Rivenbark, on January 6, 1986 and requested that an extension be granted such that the written response be provided to the NRC within forty-five (45) days of the receipt of the NRC letter.
Reasons for the extension rev est included inservice inspection activities currently in progress at katch Unit 1 and preservice inspection-related activities at Vogtle which requires the attention of those personnel who will provide the response to the request for additional information on the updated Hatch Inservice Inspection Program.
Mr. Rivenbark was agreeable to the extension and indicated that submittal of a written response within forty-five (45) days of GPC's receipt of the NRC letter would be acceptable.
GPC will therefore submit the written response to the NRC request for additional information by February 7, 1986.
