DPR 42 50 306 DPR 60 Request For Extension of Deadline For Submittal of Surveillance Capsuin Summary Technical Reports Appendix 11 of 10 CFR Part 50 requires the submittal of a Summary Technical Report on the analysis of a surveillance capsule within one year of its removal from the reactor vessel unless an extension is granted by the Director of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. A surveillanen capsula was removed from the Prairie Island Unit I reactor vnssel on January 19, 1985.
Because shipment of the capsule to Westinghouse for analysis was delayed by scheduling problems and concerns with respect to the curie content of the capsula, and because the capsule analysis has taken longer than plannod, we are not able to provida the required Summary Technical Report by the required date.
This letter is being provided pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR Part 50 Appundix 11, to request an extension in the deadline for submittal of tho Summary Technical Report on the analysis of this Prairie Island Unit i surveillance capsule. We ask that the deadline be extended to April 30, 1986 A surveillance capsule was also removed from the Prairie Island Unit 2 reactor vessel on October 1,1985. Because wo anticipate delays in the shipping and analysis of this capsule similar to thoso experienced with th.
L'nt e 1 capsule, we are also requesting an extension of the deadline for submittal of the Summary Technical Report for the Unit 2 capsule. Thn anticipated submittal date for the Unit 2 capsula report is January 31.
