Dear Mr. Chairman:
Section 147 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, requires the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to submit quarterly reports on the nondisclosure of safeguards information. In keeping with this requirement, I am pleased to inform you that for the quarter beginning on October 1 and extending through December 31,1996, the NRC reither released nor denied to the public any documents containing safeguards information.
