Contacted Tony DeAngelo, NRC Inspector for Region V, and Jessee Crewa, also of Region V (at separate times) to inform them of our intent to use ASME Code Case N-411 in the 79-14 Walkdown Effort. This includes dispositioning NCRs and all resulting modification work.
We informed thet that we would include the ASME case in our~ revised piping support criteria under 10CFR50.59. Licensing has determined that this is not an unreviewed safety question. Mechanical Engineering will present the 50.59 Safety Evaluation to the PRC today for concurrence.
We also informed Jess Crews that the District Q111 send a "for information" letter to the NRC (NRR). Jess will contact NRR and inform them of our intent.
We attempted to contact Sid Miner to tell him of our conversation with Jess Crews, but Sid was not available today. We will contact Sid on Monday, August 12.
Jess Crews and Tony DeAngelo expressed no concerns with our approach.
