In the Matter of Docket No. 50-424-OL 50-425-OL GEORGIA POWER COMPANY, et al.

(ASLBPNo. 84-499-01-0L (Vogtle Generating Plant, Units 1 and 2) January 14, 1986 Scheduling Order A telephone conference was held on January 10, 1986, with the parties to establish further scheduling.

It was agreed that the evidentiary hearing on the technical contentions, Contention 7 Groundwater and Contention 10.5 Valves, will commence on March 11, 1986. The hearing will start with Contention 7 and be held at a location within the vicinity of the facility. The time and location will be provided by subsequent notification. Testimony to be presented at the hearing is to be prefiled with the Board and the parties by February 24, 1986. A prehcaring conference, as called for by 10 CFR 2.752, is to be conducted by telephone starting at 1:30 p.m. on March 4,1986. i 1 holding of a site visit. The identities of witnesses to appear at the hearing are to be conveyed to the Board and the other parties, in writing, by February 18, 1986. The foregoing schedule shall be followed for the evidentiary hearing on the technical contention.

Emergency planning contentions are to be heard separately from the technical contentions. No schedule was set for holding an evidentiary hearing on emergency planning. The discovery period is to expire on

- January 31, 1986. Applicants plan shortly to file motions for summary disposition on the admitted contentions and additional information on the issues. Federal Emergency Management Agency expects to submit its review by April 18, 1986. The parties were called upon to coordinate their efforts to narrow the time element.

ORDER The Board, finding the above schedule for the holding of an evidentiary hearing on the technical contentions satisfactory, hereby orders that it be implemented.
