INSPECTOR FOLLOWUP ITEM 50-260/95-19-01 AND 50-296/95-19-01 REDUCED SCOPE OF VALVES IN GENERIC LETTER 89-10 PROGRAM
Dear Mr. Kingsley:
Thank you for the letter of January 6,1997, from Mr. T. E. Abney, Browns Ferry Manager of Licensing and Industry Affairs, responding to our request that you reevaluate the scope of valves included in your Browns Ferry Generic Letter 89-10 program. The changes committed to in Mr. Abney's letter are considered adequate to address our concems on this subject.
We noted that several valve testing dates provided in your letter indicated that your implementation of Generic Letter 89-10 may not have been completed by the date of a closure inspection planned for July 14,1997. However, based on a telephone conversation with Mr. John Elmerick and others of your staff on March 17,1997, we understand that you expect to have completed implementation of Generic Letter 89-10 by the date of the inspection. Please notify us, if in the future, you find that your program will not be fully implemented by our proposed inspection date.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
