Subject:

Maine Yankee Emergency Operating Procedures Gentlemen:

In accordance with our schedule, Reference (c), Maine Yankee committed to submit our new E0P Guidelines one month following their completion which was scheduled for August 15th. As you know, Maine Yankee is using Westinghouse Electric Corporation's High Pressure Emergency Response Guidelines, Rev. I to develop our upgraded emergency operating procedures. The Westinghouse guidelines were submitted to the NRC by the Westinghouse Owner's Group on November 30, 1983, Reference (b).

We do not believe it is necessary for Maine Yankee to resubmit the Westinghouse Generic Guidelines. Should you require these guidelines, however, please contact us. Maine Yankee's EOP Technical Guidelines which were informally submitted in May of 1985, Reference (d), and E0P background documents will be formally submitted to the NRC as part of our Procedures Generation Package (PGP). The PGP is scheduled to be submitted in January of 1986.
