LASALLE COUNTY h*UCLEAR CENERATING STATION N.P.D.E.S. PERMIT NO: ILOO48151 NONCOMPLIANCE REPORT DISCHARGE NUMBER AND DESCRIPTION: 001(c) Wastewater Treatment System Effluent PARAMETER AND PERMIT LIMIT: Total Suspended Golids, 30 ppm daily maximum l NONCOMPLIANCE. DATE. AND DURATION: 43 ppm Total Suspended Solids, 160CT85, unknown CAUSE OF NONCOMPLIANCE: On 110CT85 a backwash nczzle on 'B' media filter was discovered to be broken and the filtering medium had drained into the clearwell, underdrains, and effluent chamber. The backwash nozzle was replaced and the clearwell, underdrains, and effluent chamber were cleaned on 110CT85. When replacing the filtering medium, the station was short of the necessary amount of anthracite coal. The filter war put into service until 170CT85 when it was isolated until the proper amount of anthracite coal was received. The anionic polymer skid was out of service from 120CT85 to 170CT85 to repair a level probe. The composite sampler was found to be overflowing at sample time due to a power loss and compositor memory loss. CORRECTIVE ACTION: Anthracite coal was added to 'B' media filter to bring it to the correct level on 180CT85. The anionic polymer skid was put back into service on 170CT85, although rapairs were incomplete. Anionic polymer is currently manually mixed in the mixir.g tank. The composite sampler has been reprogrammed to sample the correct volume. DATE RECOGNIZED AS A VIOLATION: 160CT85 t l DATE INVESTIGATED: 170CT85 DOCUMENT ID 0070h/0250A "J}}
